How to Install gap software package in Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus)

gap software package provides computer algebra system for Groups, Algorithms and Programming, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,

$ sudo apt-get update
$ sudo apt-get install gap

gap is installed in your system.

Make ensure the gap package were installed using the commands given below,

$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gap *

You will get with gap package name, version, architecture and description in a table
